The Japanese language, like all other
languages, has changed over a period of time. For instance, take case of Japanese
language around 200 years ago. “Kisama”, these days a rude way to refer to
someone as “you” and commonly used in anime, actually
used to be an honorific way to say “you” 200-400 years ago in Japan. “De
gozaru” was also a common way to end sentences instead of “desu”, but has since
become a characterization of how ninjas speak. Japanese is certainly changing
little by little as time passes, but rest assured that this phenomena is not at
all strange. In fact, it would be considerably strange if it never changed at
all. For those of you who either have an intricate knowledge of Japanese or
have been in Japan from a couple of decades, I am sure you guys know all such
things.
The Japanese culture holds a very
strong fascination potential for the rest of the World not only because of its
uniqueness and beauty but also because of the country’s economic power. This
has led many people undertake Japanese language courses in Delhi NCR and
other metro cities. Besides learning and career point of view, I guess it feels
really cool when you talk in Japanese amongst your family and friends. If you
do manage to learn Japanese (which is certainly not the easiest of tasks), then
other languages will look like pretty simple to you. From a Westerner’s point
of view, learning Japanese is quite difficult because of the rules that the
language enforces in terms of grammar, politeness rules, writing (using a
combination of three scripts – Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana) and so forth.
These rules are not that hard per say, but it’s quite hard for us to put aside
the system that we normally take for granted and replace it with something
radically different. However, if you get a good Japanese teacher or trainer, I
am sure you can learn it in no time.
